MEGAGENESIS VI - SAVANNAH

MEGAGENESIS VII - SAVANNAH

EXCEL IN HIGH SCHOOL!  GO TO COLLEGE

Megagenesis is a program designed to assist with the development of highly motivated, goal-oriented students focusing and encouraging them to attend college.

The program has seven segments: 1) corporate exhibits which focus on careers requiring a college degree, 2) college fair, 3) career workshops facilitated by practicing professionals, 4) a motivational speaker, 5) HOPE, comprehensive information, 6) tips on “How to Pay for College”, and 7) panel discussion on how to get into and pay for college.  Segment 3 (career workshops) is for students; concurrently, segments 5, 6 and 7 are for parents.

The college fair segment normally consists of over 45 colleges and universities.  The intent is to introduce students to a variety of colleges and provide opportunities to learn about admission and matriculation requirements.

The career workshops are designed to provide opportunities for students to speak with practicing professionals.  There will be over 55 different professions and each student will have an opportunity to participate in three different workshops.

This program has been in existence for 15 years.  This year Savannah will be hosting Megagenesis for the sixth time.  Invitees include any students in grades 6 thru 12 and their parents/guardians.  Elementary students are invited but must be accompanied by parent.
